Alexandros Papadiamantis (March 3, 1851 - 3 January 1911) was a famous and influential Greek novelist of the 19th century. He wrote more than 100 novellas and short stories, including The Gypsy, The Murderess, and The Man Who Went to Another Century. All his novels are set in island life.
